     Did you know that Dobie Gray's song "drift away" is also a very good poem?Made in 1973 it was one of the best songs of its time and it made the young singer Dobie very well known in his young carrer.Though old this song is a good poem becauseits uses good sound, imagery, and gives a new pespective on life.

     First off the song is a good poem for the rhyme and rhythm expressed in it. The rhyme of this poem is in a,b,a,b,c,c. The rhythm of the song is a relaxed and calm motion of a gutiar with a small beat of the drums. This song expresses the singer"Dobie gray"feeling about life.

     Secondly this song makes a good poem for the the imagery it uses to exress his feelings. It uses touch and sight in it show what he means.In the song  it says "yet i look for the through the poring rain" a  example of sight. he also uses touch to show the actions he does. This also makes it a good poem.

    Lastly  it uses personification to give you a new perspective on life. he uses  personification when he says"when in feeling blue,the gutair is coming through to sooth me". It helps you understand what he trying to say which  is that he wants people to know about life and understand it.

     so u know that even though it is old this song is a really good poem. it uses alot of good sound ,imagery ,and perspective to make it sound good.
