     Did you know that Dobie Gray's song "drift away" is also a very good poem?Made in 1973 it was one of the best songs of its time and it made the young singer Dobie very well known in his young carrer.Though old this song is a good poem becauseits uses good sound, imagery, and gives a new pespective on life.

     First off the song is a good poem for the rhyme and rhythm expressed in it. The rhyme of this poem is in a,b,a,b,c,c. The rhythm of the song is a relaxed and calm motion of a gutiar with a small beat of the drums. This song expresses the singer"Dobie gray"feeling about life.

     Secondly this song makes a good poem for the the imagery it uses to exress his feelings. It uses touch and sight in it show what he means.In the song  it says "yet i look for the through the poring rain" a  example of sight. he also uses touch to show the actions he does. This also makes it a good poem.

    Lastly  it uses personification to give you a new perspective on life. he uses  personification when he says"when in feeling blue,the gutair is coming through to sooth me". It helps you understand what he trying to say which  is that he wants people to know about life and understand it.

Animal farm is a story that features many animals and there fates in life.In the story, overworked, beaten,neglected,starving animals rise up against there cruel masters but later find out that things maybe weren't as bad as they seemed.In animal farm the way the animals respond to stories has a strong connection to their ability to survive.
The pigs are the ones who twist the stories.One example is that squealer twisted the story of why the pigs need the milk and apples.He said that they need them to stay healthy.He also said they needed them unless they wanted Jones to come back.Another example is when Napoleon twisted the story of what happened to the windmill. In the story he says "Do you know the enemy who has come at night and overthrown the windmill.SNOWBALL!!!!".he also persuaded them to believe it by offering a full bushel to the one who captures snowball.Also the pigs twist a story when Squealer twist the story of why napoleon is dieing.He said snowball poisoned him.Also said an animal confessed to helping him do it.The pigs in the end become the leader and right hand man.
Boxer is the one who believes everything he hears.Has a saying that makes him look like he believes what he hears.he lives by this and it is his moto, It is "napoleon is always right".Another example is when he works hard because he is told it will help them complete the windmill.he worked with a broken hoof. He also worked in his old age until he collapsed one day.One more example is when he believes that the pigs are going to take care of him.Is relaxing and enjoying retirement.He also shows no sign of doubt in his leaders.Boxer winds up being sold to a horse slaughter and killed.
Then theres Benjamen who doesn't totally believe what he hears.First off he didn't believe that the truck was going to the hospital.In the story he says "no its a horse slaughter truck!".He also wasn't sure about it at first.Another example of him not believing what he hears is when he was told that snowball destroyed the windmill.He thought it was knocked down by the storm .He also said it wasn't possible for one pig to knock it down.Also he didn't believe that snowball poisoned napoleon.He knew that the pigs had bin drinking.Also he knew that he would be fine.In the end he is a lower class animal.
In animal farm the way animals answer to stories effects there ability to live or die.The pigs twist stories and become great.Boxer was a loyal listener and died.Benjamen doesn't believe what he is told and lives.This story shows people what happens when your a leader,a follower, and a non believing person.

In "Animal Farm" the animals beleive napolens lies for a number of reasons. One is that the animals could not see that anything was wrong.In the story Squealer convinces the animals that all is well and the are doing better than they did with jones.The pigs also made napolen look like a hero.In the story he was called "the father of all animals and the protector of the sheep fold".They also turned the animals against snowball. They made him look like a coward when they spoke of him.So the animals are dependent on napolen to tell them whats ture and whats lies.

U.S.Grant has many accomplishments during his life that effected our country in a huge.His biggest accomplishment was when he was able to defeat general Robert E. Lee to end the civil war. He also attended the us milatary academy.Grant was the colonel of the 21st Illinois Infantry in 1861.He was also elected the 18th united states president.Grant fought in the mexican war also from 1846-1848.Sadly he died july 23rd 1885 in New York city where he was later burried.his home state historic site is in Galena,Illinois.

Grant graduated from u.s. military academy and was ranked 21 out of 39. On august 22,1884 he married Julia Bogs Dent and had four children .H fought in many great battles during his life Grant died july 23,1885,in New york. I thought this article was a good reminder of Grant. I learned that he was married and that his real name was Hiram not ulysses.

In "the most dangerous game" Zaroff values liberty more than equality. Throughout the story he shows how much he values liberty. Zaroff thinks he's the best in the world. He believes that no one is better than him. In the story he refers to the sailors as 'the scum of the earth. Zaroff also thinks he can do what ever he wants. Also he thinks he can  kill anything he wants. In the story he says 'life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong,and if needed taken by the strong'. He also thinks its ok to kill humans. So you see Zaroff really values liberty in his life.

the war in Iraq

The war in Iraq is really bad and hurting more than its helping. Barack Obama wants to take out all battle troops and send 7,ooo of them to Afghanistan. John McCain wants to take them all out only if Iraq is secure but also wants to send more people to Afghanistan. I feel torn between these to because i want the war to end but feel we should end it with a win for the united states.
